Eligibility:

To be eligible for the post-UTME registration, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Select Maritime Academy of Nigeria as your first choice institution in the 2022 UTME.
  • Score above the required cut-off mark for your chosen program:
    • Nautical Science and Marine Engineering: 175
    • Electrical/Electronic Engineering: 175
    • Maritime Transport and Business Studies: 160

Registration Procedures:

Here is a step-by-step guide to help you with the registration process:

  1. Ensure you have a functional email address and mobile phone number for correspondence.
  2. Visit the academy’s official website at www.maritimeacademy.gov.ng.
  3. Click on the “Admission HND/ND Registration Portal.”
  4. Log in using your UTME number as the username and JAMB score as the password.
  5. Generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) and print the payment slip.
  6. Proceed to any bank of your choice to make a payment using the Remita Payment Platforms.
  7. Return to the academy’s portal to complete your registration.

Application Deadline:

The online registration for the Maritime Academy of Nigeria Post-UTME Screening Exercise starts on 12th September 2022 and ends on 11th October 2022.

Application Fees:

The application form fee is N2,000.00. Payments can be made using the Remita payment platform.

O-level and UTME Requirements:

To be eligible for admission, you must meet the following subject requirements:

For Natural Science:

  • Possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or equivalent with at least five credit passes.
  • Credit passes must include Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Geography, and any other related science subjects obtained within the last five years in not more than two sittings.

For Marine Engineering and Electrical/Electronic Engineering:

  • Possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with at least five credit passes.
  • Credit passes must include Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, and any other related science subjects obtained within the last five years in not more than two sittings.

For Maritime Transport and Business Studies:

  • Possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with at least five credit passes.
  • Credit passes must include Mathematics, English Language, Economics, and either Geography, Commerce, Government, Financial Accounting, or Business Management obtained within the last five years in not more than two sittings.

Physical and Medical Fitness:

Due to the requirements of the maritime industry, all applicants must be physically and mentally fit.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for physical and medical screening. Candidates are required to complete the Application Medical Examination Form (Form M) and undergo specific medical tests, which must be carried out within the online registration period.

Marital Status and Age Limit:

Applicants must be single and remain single throughout the program. Candidates applying for Nautical Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, and Marine Engineering must be between 16 and 21 years of age as of 31st October 2022. Candidates applying for Maritime Transport and Business Studies must be between 16 and 25 years of age as of 31st October 2022.
