Are you a candidate who chose the University of Port Harcourt as your first choice in the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)?

If so, we have important information for you.

The university has announced the commencement of the Post-UTME Screening Exercise for admission into the institution. This blog post will guide you through the necessary steps to ensure a smooth application process.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the Post-UTME Screening Exercise, you must have chosen the University of Port Harcourt as your first choice and obtained a minimum score of 150 in the UTME. If you meet these criteria, you can proceed with the application process.

Application Process:

  1. Input UTME Registration Number: Start by inputting your UTME Registration Number and confirming the pre-loaded UTME details.
  2. Generate Remita Code or Print Payment Slip: You have two options for payment. You can either generate a Remita code for payment using your MasterCard, Visa, or Verve card, or you can print out the Payment Slip and make the payment of N2,000.00 at any of the designated banks (ACCESS BANK PLC, ECOBANK LTD, FIDELITY BANK PLC, FIRST BANK PLC, FCMB, UBA PLC, AND UNIPORT-CHOBA MICROFINANCE BANK).
  3. Obtain Remita Receipt: After making the payment at the bank, obtain a Remita receipt that shows an Access Code from the Bank Teller. This receipt will confirm your payment.
  4. Login and Complete the Form: Go back online and log in with your UTME Registration Number and the Access Code on the payment slip. Complete the form online as requested.
  5. Print Photo Card: Once you have completed the form, print the Photo Card for the Screening Exercise Clearance. Remember to also reprint the Photo Card a day before the examination.
  6. Note the Screening Date and Time: Make sure to note the date and time of the screening on the Photo Card.

Materials Required for the Post-UTME Exam: On the day of the screening, candidates are required to bring the following:

  • A clear copy of the Photo Card printed online
  • Pen
  • Registration Notice

Important Points to Note:

  1. Consistency in Name and Picture: The University of Port Harcourt emphasizes that there should be no inconsistency in the name or picture on your Registration Slip. Such discrepancies may lead to disqualification. Make sure that your names on your O’Level Certificates, UTME Results, and other registration documents are the same.
  2. Age Requirement: Candidates must be sixteen (16) years of age or above by October 2022 to be eligible for the exercise.
  3. Prohibited Items: Mobile phones, iPads, iPods, Walkmans, and similar gadgets, as well as any extraneous materials, are not allowed into the Screening Venue and its environs.
  4. Registration Period: Candidates must apply within the designated Registration Period. The online application link will be disabled at the close of registration.
  5. Online Registration: The registration process is entirely online. Candidates are not required to be physically present on the University Campus but can register from any location.
  6. Second Choice Candidates: If you initially chose the University of Port Harcourt as your second choice but now wish to be considered for admission, you can apply for the Screening Exercise after changing the University to your first choice.
  7. Uploading of O’Level Results: Ensure that your O’Level results are uploaded to the JAMB website as soon as possible. Failure to do so will result in non-consideration for admission.
  8. Valid Contact Information: Register using your own valid telephone (GSM) number and email address.
  9. Screening Venue and Disqualification: Candidates must report to the designated Screening Venues at the scheduled time on the Photo Card. Failure to do so may lead to disqualification.
  10. Attendance Restrictions: Parents, guardians, and uninvited security agents will not be allowed into the campus on the days of the screening exercise.
