Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) was established in November 2020 in Osara, Kogi State, Nigeria.
The university was founded to address the challenges faced by the citizens of Kogi State in gaining admission to Nigerian universities, especially in science and technology fields.
Spearheaded by the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, CUSTECH aims to provide quality education and produce globally competitive graduates.
Addressing Admissions Challenges: The establishment of CUSTECH was prompted by the recurring difficulties faced by Kogi State’s secondary school leavers in gaining admission to their desired courses, such as medicine, engineering, and pharmacy. Even students who scored impressive marks in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) found it increasingly challenging to secure admissions. Therefore, CUSTECH was created to minimize these admission hurdles and offer opportunities to pursue careers in science and technology.
Inaugural Programs and Admissions: CUSTECH commenced its first academic session in December 2020 with the School of Preliminary Studies, a program inherited from the Kogi State Polytechnic. In June 2021, the university admitted its first set of 235 students for full-time undergraduate programs. Initially, the university offered 12 programs, including Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Cybersecurity Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, and Chemistry.
Mission and Vision: CUSTECH’s mission is to provide a conducive teaching and learning environment that fosters critical thinking, knowledge preservation and exchange, and strategic values for the intellectual development of humanity. The university aspires to become a reputable world-class institution that produces highly skilled, globally competitive graduates capable of practical problem-solving.
Acceptance Fee: Upon receiving admission into CUSTECH, every newly admitted student is required to pay an acceptance fee of 20,000 naira. This fee serves as confirmation of the student’s acceptance of the admission offer. Failure to pay the acceptance fee will result in the forfeiture of the admission.
Acceptance Fee Payment Procedure: To pay the acceptance fee, follow these steps:
- Visit the CUSTECH website at www.custech.edu.ng.
- After updating your profile and downloading your admission letter, the acceptance fee will be displayed automatically.
- Access the payment tab and choose a payment method such as cards, mobile money accounts, bank accounts, or USSD.
- Follow the instructions provided to complete the payment process.
