Approved UNILAG Part-Time Degree Admission Form for 2023/2024 Academic Session

Application Process:

The application process consists of two phases: JAMB registration and the UNILAG application. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of the process:

Phase 1:

JAMB Registration

  1. Visit the JAMB CAPS website and register.
  2. Pay the sum of N3,500 to obtain a JAMB registration center number. No UTME exam is required.

Phase 2:

UNILAG Application

  1. Go to the UNILAG application portal at applications.unilag.edu.ng.
  2. Click on “Start Fresh Application.”
  3. Select ICE as the application type and provide your personal details such as Surname, First Name, Middle Name, JAMB Registration Number, Mobile Phone Number, and Email Address.
  4. Click “Pay Now” to make an online payment of the processing fee (N11,500) or print the payment advice with Remita Number to make payment at any bank within the University of Lagos.
  5. After payment, return to the application portal and click “continue application.”
  6. Enter your payment reference number and your surname in lowercase as a password.
  7. Complete all the required details and upload necessary documents.
  8. Submit the application form online and print two copies. You can also save the application form for future editing.
  9. Submit one hard copy of the completed form, in color prints, to the department you have applied to or to the sandwich office for Faculty of Education programs.

General Information:

  1. The application process consists of two stages: JAMB and ICE (Sandwich) UNILAG.
  2. There will be no UTME examination for ICE candidates.
  3. The programs run in the evening.
  4. Candidates must possess a minimum of five ‘O’ Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.
  5. The ICE offers various programs in faculties such as Arts, Education, Management Sciences, and Social Sciences.

Available Programs:

  1. Faculty of Arts: Programs offered include Creative Arts (Theatre Arts, Music, and Visual Arts), English Language, European Languages & Integration Studies (French and Russian), Philosophy, Linguistics, African and Asian Studies (Igbo and Yoruba), History and Strategic Studies.
  2. Faculty of Education: Programs offered include Arts and Social Sciences Education, Business Education, Christian Religious Studies, Early Childhood Education, Economics Education, English Education, French Education, Geography Education, History Education, Igbo Education, Islamic Religious Studies Education, Yoruba Education, Educational Management, Education Foundations, Human Kinetics and Health Education, Lifelong and Continuing Education, Science and Technology Education.
  3. Faculty of Management Sciences: Programs offered include Actuarial Science & Insurance, Employment Relations and Human Resource Management.
  4. Faculty of Social Sciences: Programs offered include Mass Communication, Sociology, Social Work, and Psychology.

Admission Entry Requirements:

The Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) has specific entry requirements for admission into its programs. Candidates must possess at least one of the following qualifications:

  1. WASC/SSCE/NECO/GCE (O’ Level) or equivalent with a minimum of five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.
  2. GCE (A-Level) or Cambridge Examination or equivalent with principal passes in at least two relevant subjects.
  3. Diploma certificate (OND or HND) from any polytechnic or NCE from any college of Education approved by the government.
  4. A First Degree from the University of Lagos or any other comparable institution approved by the Senate.
  5. A JUPEB result with a minimum of 2.00 Points.
  6. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and fulfill other requirements set by the Faculty/Department where the program is domiciled.

Important Notice:

  1. Candidates are required to participate in an entrance examination, which will consist of English Language and General Paper. Mathematics is also included for Management Sciences.
  2. Candidates should arrive at the examination venue by 7.45 am with a color print of their application forms.
  3. Provisional Admission Letters will be ready for collection two weeks after the entrance examination.
  4. The date of the qualifying examination will be announced through the ICE website and via text messages to candidates.
