Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), formerly known as Anambra State University (ANSU), is a state-owned university in Nigeria.

The university has three campuses located in Uli, Alor, and Igbariam.

It was established by the Anambra State Government in 2000 and is officially accredited and recognized by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

COOU was named after Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, the leader of the breakaway Republic of Biafra, to immortalize his legacy. The name change was enacted by the Anambra State House of Assembly on September 11, 2014.

To pay the acceptance fee, which is a crucial fee for new students to confirm their admission, follow these steps:

  1. Log into the COOU website at http://portal.coou.edu.ng.
  2. Search for “Confirm Admission Status” on the Undergraduate page.
  3. Generate your N1,500 invoice and pay via Remita through the listed banks or use online payment with your ATM.
  4. Return to the COOU portal and click on “Verify Account” for login details.
  5. Once logged in, make your payment and print the receipt for future reference.
