BASUG Admission Requirements and Courses Offered 2023

Bauchi State University Gadau (BASUG) is a recognized and accredited institution by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in Nigeria.

Bauchi State, one of the states created in 1986, established BASUG in 2011 as its first state-owned tertiary institution.

BASUG’s main campus is located in Gadau (Azare), and it also has campuses in Misau and Bauchi.

The university currently has approximately 21,180 students, with Fatimah Tahir serving as the Vice Chancellor.

Admission into BASUG requires meeting specific requirements for both UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination) and Direct Entry applicants. For UTME applicants, the requirements include being at least 16 years old, possessing a minimum of five credit passes in subjects including English Language, Mathematics, and three other relevant subjects, and obtaining a score of 180 and above in the JAMB UTME examination. The subject combinations chosen should align with the desired course of study, and the candidate must achieve the required cut-off mark for their chosen course.

Direct Entry applicants must meet similar requirements, including presenting the JAMB Direct Entry form, being at least 16 years old, having a minimum of five credit passes in relevant subjects, and possessing qualifications such as OND, NCE, Cambridge A level, IJMB, BSc, or HND.

BASUG comprises ten faculties spread across its campuses: Science, Arts, Education, Basic Medical Sciences, Agriculture, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Law, Social Sciences, Management Sciences, and Engineering. Each faculty offers a range of courses.
